Story
Running a marathon isn’t the most traditional way to celebrate a 60th birthday, but then again, I’ve never been one to follow the crowd!
To be honest in 2011, I thought I’d hung up my running shoes for good. I’m now in training for London 2023, this one will definitely be my last!
My 60th birthday was on the 27th of February, but I decided way before then not to have a party. My decision to run the London Marathon was a simple one, to raise money and awareness for Myeloma Cancer UK.
A very good friend of mine was diagnosed with multiple Myeloma back in November and I wanted to use this opportunity to help raise awareness of this horrible, debilitating disease. The money raised will go towards research for Myeloma UK and help support families affected by the disease, every penny will go towards this great cause.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I’ll be updating all my supporters on a regular basis re my training etc.
Any donation, will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your support.
