Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. For the last 32 years I have been quite content being a large man (cuddly some might say), but I have decided its time to Get Fit and Lose Fat.
So I know this will come as a shock to many people who have known me over the years, but I have set what I believe to be a big target which is to complete a 5k run, followed by a 10k cycle ride.
Now I have decided to do things in a bit of a different way, as I cannot actually ride a bike, but I have set up that I will be using the equipment in my gym to complete this task, as it is better on my legs and I don't have to rely on weather to complete it. My lovely wife will be there to adjudicate and I will film it too, to show it happened.
But to show you how serious I am, about a year and a half ago I was at my highest ever weight, tipping the scales at 25 stone. Under my own steam I have lost 3 1/2 stone, and have just joined weight watchers too, with which I have lost 16 pounds in the last four weeks, so the race is on to get to my ideal weight of 16 stone, and hopefully to have the added incentive of raising some valuable funds for two charities close to my heart at the same time.
I am a trustee for Meninadanca, who are a Brazilian not-for-profit organisation that works with at-risk girls in communities along the BR-116, Brazil’s ‘exploitation highway’. Bringing hope and changing lives through the power of dance.

I also work for Scripture Union as a Development Worker and I am actively encouraged to help fund my work.

So please do give generously, and where possible please to support both charities, or help to equal the targets out by giving to the one with the lowest funding already. Although please do give to the charity of your choice :-)
Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.
Much love, Bob
