Story
Since 2007 the Monadnock Region Child Advocacy Center (MRCAC) has been utilized by Cheshire County law enforcement departments, the Cheshire County Attorney's Office, and the Keene District Office of DCYF for child forensic interviews of children suspected of being victims of abuse. MRCAC utilizes a team-based therapeutic approach to ensure that child victims receive caring trauma-informed services. As a program of the Granite State Children's Alliance, MRCAC is administered by a non-profit corporation that relies on outside funding and donations to meet the cost of operations. Since 2016 local Cheshire County Law Enforcement agencies, have helped MRCAC raise crucial operation funds by allowing their Officers to participate in the annual Beards for Bucks Fundraiser. MRCAC is grateful for Police Department Chiefs who allow their officers to participate in Beards for Bucks, and we are also grateful for all of the individual officers who support us. This year, expect to see officers from Keene, Winchester, Chesterfield, Walpole, Jaffrey, Marlborough Police Departments, as well as the Cheshire County Sheriffs Department with beards. Thanks to all of our friends for pitching in. We would also like to tip our hat to Pudge Pearson at the Keene Country Club for donating a round of golf for four people and to the Elm City Brewery for also donating to the cause of a growler of beer a month for a year. The leading fundraiser can select between the two wonderful gifts.
