Story
Hey! My name is Amy Mattingly and I'm 32 with terminal bowel cancer that has spread to my liver. I was diagnosed earlier this year after losing my son during a traumatic stillbirth. I was recently given only a few months to live and I've started palliative chemotherapy which my oncologist believes has a 10% chance of working.
I've spontaneously decided that I'll be walking 9 miles from Bradford-on-Avon to Bath along the Kennett & Avon Canal this Saturday at 10:30am (rain or shine). I'll be wearing my gold cape.
I'm walking for several reasons.
- The important one: my friend Leigh said he'd donate £100 and I wanna stick it to him.
- I want to prove to myself I can still do it.
- It's a really nice walk through a beautiful valley, crossing the river Avon twice on aqueducts
If you're local and you fancy a nice walk, you're welcome to join me and say, "Pay up, Leigh!" I'm actually serious - you're welcome to join me.
If you'd like to throw some money at this walk, I'd be very grateful.
