We are a small cycling group (BMNCCC) from Bishop Monkton near Harrogate and this year we will be taking on the Chase the Sun Italy challenge. It is a one day 285km cycle ride across Italy from sunrise on the east coast to beat the sun setting on the west coast. Two of the group have needed the lifesaving response of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. In 2018 Ollie suffered a cardiac arrest at the age of just 39, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance was a major factor in his successful outcome. In 2022 Ben crashed his bike whilst out with the group in a remote area of North Yorkshire, he suffered a broken hip and was flown by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to hospital for surgery to repair the broken bones.

We would like to demonstrate our gratitude by fundraising for this incredible charity which provides rapid emergency response to over 5 million people across Yorkshire. The YAA charity needs £19,000 a day to keep both its helicopters in the air.
