We are currently organising a Charity Ball Memory of my Dad, Billy Greene, he recently lost his battle to Mesothelioma an Abestos Related Cancer. His last days were spent in Ward 7, Airedale General Hospital, West Yorkshire.
We were devastated to receive a call at 6am on Saturday the 14th May 2011 from the hospital, telling my Mum that Dad had taken a turn for the worst and that we should make our way to the hospital.
Dad did not pass away until 9:50am on Monday 16th May. He fought every step of the way battling Pnuemonia, me and my family stayed at the hospital for 52 hours watching Dad slowly pass away and in that time we feel the nursing staff went above and beyond their call of duty. I feel that the nursing staff not only took great care of my Dad but also my family and so i really feel that i would like to give something back.
In addition there is a charity called Mesothelioma UK , it is a national resource centre dedicated to providing specialist Mesothelioma information, support & improved care and treatment.
Their services are free of charge; they rely totally on donations to the Mesothelioma UK Charitable Trust for financial support. They need your help to raise funds and awareness for this fatal illness.
The date of The Blue Ribbon Charity Ball is 19th November 2011, and we need as many items to raffle or auction off, if you feel that you could donate anything, we would be so grateful.
