Story
This October, we, British Land, and our suppliers are taking on the challenge to cycle up to 120km and 7k ft of climbing in the Peak District to raise money for LandAid and the Ukrainian Institute.
Last year there were an estimated 121,000 young people who are homeless. This is a 40% rise in five years. Young people facing homelessness need our support more than ever. LandAid bring the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young homeless people.
The Ukrainian Institute is also a charity close to BL's hearts. In 2022, BL staged a 12 week English Language programme for 225 displaced Ukrainians in London. The programme was held in Storey Club and 2 Kingdom Street at Paddington and provided two lessons a week per student and an opportunity for them to network with other refugees. The course ranged from absolute beginners to those who needed business English help. August saw the graduation ceremony for the first cohort and the programme has been heralded as a great success by the students. However, the Institute has a waiting list of over 3,000 students, so there is a very clear need to run a second cohort this autumn.
Your donation will help support both of these incredible charities and help make a difference to many lives. Thank you!
