Story
Thank you so much for your generous donation to Marie Curie. Thanks to supporters like you, every minute of every day someone with cancer or a terminal illness is cared for by a Marie Curie Nurse. The support we received meant that last year, we were able to care for over 40,000 people free of charge in their homes and at our hospices.
On Saturday 20th June, the Marie Curie Cardiff group will be holding Blooming Virtual Tea Parties. During this pandemic, the amount of calls that Marie Curie have received has increased by 40%. There has been an increase in the Hospice at Home service and the Cardiff & Vale Hospice continues to care for patients in single rooms.
£20 pays for a Marie Curie Nurse to look after someone with a terminal illness for one hour.
£70 pays for someone with a terminal illness to have day therapy at a Marie Curie Hospice, benefiting from gentle exercise, art classes and more.
£180 pays for a Marie Curie Nurse to look after someone with a terminal illness for a full nine-hour shift, in the comfort of their own home.
£400 pays for someone to stay in a Marie Curie Hospice for a full day and night, so they can receive the hands-on care they need in their final days.
We'll be running tea parties throughout the day so please join us and donate if you can. (details will be posted in the updates) You can also arrange your own tea party for family and friends and provide this link to collect donations.
Thank you.
