Story
Hello friends, supporters and what I assume is a sizeable contingent of people just tickled by the idea of me in debilitating pain.
I'm Ben, I'm an animator and post-production freelancer which could very well be the most sedentary type of existence on the planet, save for those people who play online RPGs every moment of the day until their flesh actually biologically interweaves with the fabric of whatever they're constantly sitting on and the paramedics have to literally cut them out of the furniture.
I'm also at a personal war with myself having spent the last five years shedding about 150lbs with a good 30 or so left, and given that life in a lot of respects is going rather well I'd like to not, y'know, die earlier than I have to. Hence me making myself run, and I'm presently training for the Bristol 10k on May 15th.
10k may not seem like much to normal human beings, but it's a big step for someone like me. I anticipate that it will probably, in all likelihood, suck. If I make it, though, it will mark the beginning of the final stretch of me getting my cardiovascular health in order.
By way of incentives, all's I have are remnants of personal projects and homemade stuff. But here you go:
Donate £5 or more - you get a hand-drawn 'cel' (ink on paper) from my most recent film "The Naughty List", currently doing the rounds on the festival circuit.
Donate £10 or more - you get the (mentioned above) cel as well as a personalised 'thank you' illustration.
Donate £15 or more - you get both the cel and illustration as well as a signed limited edition 'Thing' print (info soon).
Donate £20 or more - you get all of the above along with a free PDF version of my book "House Guest: The Graphic Novel"
Donate £30 or more - all of the above with a free digital edition of the Struwwelpeter album "The Book of Women"
Donate £50 or more - all of the above and I will write/produce a song for you from scratch.
Donate £100 or more - all of the above and I will make a mini-animated short for you from scratch (30-45 secs max, but trust me, animation takes a lot of time to do well)
All of the money donated on this page goes directly to the charity and I don't pocket a penny. I appreciate the theme is pretty me-centric and may seem vainglorious, but from a financially feasible standpoint the stuff I make is all I have to offer. And some of it's kinda neat.
If any of you want to come by and scream support/abuse or just watch my pink carcass jiggle its way to the finish line hours after everyone else has gone home, the race info is online here.
