We provide mental health services to promote recovery & sustained wellbeing

Story

Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We decided back in February that we would make the most of a staycation this year and after many discussions we opted to give ourselves a challenge & walk the 96 miles of the West Highland Way.  After telling family & friends about our holiday plans people were asking if we had considered doing this for charity. Anyone who knows us know that generally our fundraising efforts come in the likes of 3 hour Zumba classes or ladies lunches so this will certainly be a test!! (no neon clothing or heels required for this challenge!)

The subject around mental health is one that is close to our hearts so we have chosen our local mental health charity: Recovery Across Mental Health based in Paisley.

All money raised through fundraising goes straight back into services, so you can be rest assured that your donations will have a direct & positive impact on the people that RAMH support.

Thank you x

Every year 1 in 4 of us in Scotland will experience a mental health problem. If you don’t, the chances are you will know someone who does.  It is estimated that up to 1 person in 20 is thinking about suicide at any one time. In Scotland alone, that means 262,740 people may be thinking about it

  • There were 805 probable suicides registered in Scotland in 2020
  • Suicide deaths were consistently above average between June and September of 2020 (28% more suicides than usual for those four months)
  • Men accounted for 71% of suicides in 2020
  • The suicide rate in Scotland’s most deprived areas is three times the rate in the least deprived areas

Now, more than ever, we need people to donate to help fund the vital services RAMH provide.
