Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Most of you know our boys, Ted and Rex were born 3 and a half months early last year and spent 105 days in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) fighting for their lives at all 3 Nottinghamshire hospitals; First City Hospital, then Kings Mill and finally QMC, where Rex needed an operation.
The boys turn 1 on September 14th and Kerry and although we would have loved to have had a big birthday party, with all the uncertainty in the world we though my we would like to raise some money for Bliss to celebrate instead. Bliss exists to give every baby born premature or sick in the UK the best chance of survival and quality of life.
Kerry and I have been thinking about what we can do to support Bliss and have decided to do a bike ride from City Hospital, to Kings Mill to QMC and then finally to home, following the route the boys took in the first 4 months of their lives.
We have been very lucky with the boys but we know and met many families that unfortunately lost their babies and by raising money for Bliss this will happen less and less.
