Story
This year, I decided to set myself the challenge of running a total of 26 miles in a series of organised/competitive races to raise money for CRY (www.c-r-y.org.uk) and in memory of my brother Mathew.
CRY have given no end of support to my family and me. They fund a heart screening I have yearly in Lewisham and uncovered a symptom which they believe shows that I have a condition called Brugada Syndrome.
As a precaution, I've been advised not to attempt any endurance event over 10k. As I didn't want this to stop me, I decided that a series of races totalling 26 miles (marathon distance) is the next best thing for me to attempt and so I've found and signed up to the following:
Sunday May 25th - BUPA 10k - London (6 miles)
Finished!
Bib 11678 - Time = 1:06:42
Sunday 1st June - Color Run - Wembley (3 miles)
Finished!
Bib 37677 - Time = 35 minutes
Sunday 22nd June - Triffic Trail 10k - Trent Park (6 miles)
Finished!
Bib 39 - Time = 1:09:25
Sunday 13th July - British 10k - London (6 miles)
Finished!
Bib 5970 - Time = 1:06:48
Sunday 20th July - Olympic Park Lottery Run - Stratford (5 miles)
Finished!
Bib 5010 - Time = 52:16
I hope that you can all donate (even if it's just £1) to help me give something back to CRY but if you can't, still feel free to come down to any of the runs that I've listed and throw jelly babies at me :) or maybe even grab a mid race selfie?!
