Story
For all those who know me well, know I lost my dad in May 2019 to a brain tumor. He was a healthy, non-smoker who passed at the age of 55. For those that knew him know that he lived life to the full, was a ball of positive energy and lit up every room he was in. He was one of a kind. But brain cancer does not discriminate, and brain tumors kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Yet, somehow, only 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since research started in 2002. Why this is, I do not know.
To mark the 5 years of his passing, I am trying to do something to help raise money for the Brain Tumour Research charity. I will be walking and swimming to get up to 200k over May and would appreciate any donations you can spare. I appreciate times are hard and not everyone has a disposable income, any donation you can give, even as little as £1 would be so appreciated. I will be trying to manage this challenge in May whilst working full time and looking after 4 small people, so to say its going to be a challenge is an under statement!
Brain Tumour Research are the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.
Please give as much as you can, I really appreciate it.
