Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Every year, over 8,500 people are diagnosed with a primary brain tumour. As many brain tumours are not recorded, the figure could be much higher in reality.
Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under the age of 40, with 3,500 people losing their lives to brain tumours every year.
Brain tumours are the biggest cause of preventable or treatable blindness in children, as well as reducing life expectancy by, on average, 20 years; the highest of all cancers.
Over £500 million is spent on cancer research in the UK every year, yet less than 2% is spent on brain tumour research.
Brain Tumour UK is a charity extremely close to our hearts.
In December 2009, Blaise's cousin Rupert was diagnosed with a brain tumour. In October 2011, Rupert sadly passed away aged just 31.
In April 2002, Hol's sister was diagnosed with a brain tumour at 12 years of age. After a year of intense chemotherapy and radiotherapy, Em went into remission. 10 years on, Em is living a healthy life.
In an attempt to raise as much money as possible towards helping Brain Tumour UK help people survive brain tumours, Blaise, Saulty & Shane are taking the Tough Mudder Challenge. Described as 'the toughest event on the planet', Tough Mudder is a hardcore 12 mile obstacle course designed by Special Forces to test strength, stamina, determination, and camaraderie.
