Story
On 5th July I will be cycling ‘London to the Pyrenees’ for Phoenix Community Care along with the charity REGENERATE UK on a joint venture. This will involve cycling for 9 days straight at the average of 120k per day with the last day being Stage 14 of this years ‘Tour De France’ with 117k from Tarbes to Col Du Tourmalet.
This is the start of 20 challenges for Phoenix Community Care (PCC) over the next year to celebrate 20 years of PCC (#pcc20years). In The summer of 1999 PCC started its supported housing project for young refugees and children leaving foster care (aged 16+). The young people and all involved have been on many journeys difficult and enjoyable. We want to honour these journeys and the progress they have made.
Over this time, PCC has had to adapt with changes of government, different needs and funding whilst always maintaining the same level of care and support offered to the young people they support. There have been a few cases recently where young people have ceased being funded and so we would like to raise money through this challenge to house, support and steer our young people through independent living and onto employment.
We would like to raise 10k from London to the Pyrenees Cycle Challenge. Thank you for your support.
