Story
💜 You spend your whole life making memories and Dementia wades in and steals them all away from you.
Imagine a disease that makes you forget to eat, forget to wash, forget whether you are in pain, even forget who your loved ones are . . . Your loved ones who you've known all your life and you don't even remember their names or their relationship to you . . . HOW CAN THAT BE RIGHT? 💜
Watching my beautiful mummy waste away from this horrible disease was truly the worse experience of my life.💔
To see such a vibrant, glamorous, fun loving lady end up bed bound and unable to speak was totally heart-breaking and unless you've travelled this journey I really don't think you can understand the sadness and utter feeling of helplessness that consumes your very soul ! 💔
❤️ I will never forget the times we spent together nor the way she squeezed my hand and kissed my face the night before she passed and I will always be proud that I fought so hard to keep her safe and fulfil her wish to die in her own bed at home; it wasn't easy but it was worth it and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. ❤️
💜 That's why I'm walking for a world without Dementia, to find a cure and prevent other families going through the sheer pain of seeing your loved one disappear before your eyes 💜
💜 I'm walking for my mum, my hero, my Queen because I love her and although she's no longer here in body her memory will live on forever in my heart 💜
❤️ THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ MY STORY, IF YOU CAN SPARE EVEN THE SMALLEST AMOUNT TOWARDS MY TARGET I WILL BE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL ❤️
