Story
There will be 18 Blackburn Rovers Academy players, and five Blackburn Rovers staff members (Christina, Christine, Chris, Neil and Russ) taking on the Blackburn 10k as 'Rovers Runners'. The team are seeking to raise money to support the work of the clubs official charitable arm, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.
The clubs official charity aims to serve Blackburn with Darwen and the five surrounding boroughs, through the delivery of more than 50 life changing projects in education, health, inclusion and sports participation. Blackburn Rovers Community Trust offer opportunities as diverse as BTEC and foundation degree level education, walking football, dementia care projects to supporting those suffering with mental health issues amongst many other life changing programmes. Participants vary in age, from new born infants through to those who are decades into retirement, actives cater for all.
More specifically, funds raised will go towards supporting disability provision, senior citizen activities and positive youth engagement activities within the local community and surrounding areas.
