Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the London Marathon as a tribute to my sister-in-law Lisa Day. Lisa was a type one diabetic, diagnosed in her teenage years, who died from Diabetic Keto-Acidosis (DKA) at only 27.
We hope to fund-raise in her memory, to improve research and care for type one diabetics, so that her tragic loss leaves a lasting legacy.
Lisa had put herself forward to run the London marathon before she died and I hope to do her proud in running in her name.
Although the training miles will be many, this marathon run will not require a fraction of the energy that diabetics need to get through life and live in a normal way.
