Story
I have recently volunteered to run the Bath Half Marathon for Cancer Research UK in support of a friend of mine, Jess Cator, whose father was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Blastoid Mantle Cell Lymphoma in 2014. As a result of her father’s diagnosis, Jess’s family decided to run the Bath Half in support of Cancer Research UK, which as I am sure you already know, is the world’s leading charity pioneering research to bring forward the day Cancer can be cured. However what started as a family challenge has spiralled into 4 half marathons on 4 continents as more and more people decided to get involved.
Of course Jess' family is not the only one to be affected by this awful disease and as a result friends and family from around the world have been inspired, not just to sponsor them, but also to run with them to show their commitment to the cause. As a result, on 1st of March 2015, we now have an international relay of more than 54 miles, covered in Bath, Hong Kong, Vancouver Island, and Sydney, with over 150 people signed up!
Kicking off the global marathon relay will be the Jess’s aussie cousins charging around the (delightfully named) Athletes Foot Half Marathon near Sydney, Jess’s sister Rosanna and her 50 strong Hong Kong team will then take the baton, passing it on to the burgeoning UK team in Bath (that’s me!), with cousin Annabel and her squad covering the last quarter in Vancouver Island, Canada.
Please join us in beating this terrible disease and donate to our team JustGiving Page: https://www.justgiving.com/
Thank you so much for your support.
