Story
I found out about Ella's through the (BTS) ARMY Charity Twitter account @OneInAnARMY. They were running a fundraiser to celebrate Jin's birthday. Then I learned more about Ella's and realized they're doing very important work. They rehabilitate survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation, by providing shelter and long term community based support for them so they recover from their traumatic experiences and build safe lives. 'On my first day at Ella’s, it felt like being welcomed home. I slept that night for the first time in two weeks,' says Sharon, who lives in one of Ella's safe houses. As a woman myself, that touched me deeply and I immediately felt the need to help them.
I'm a huge fan of BTS and their charity work inspires me a lot. Sadly, it's not within my means to donate, but when I learned about the virtual London marathon and how running it would help donate to this cause, I joined in a flash, since that was the least I could do. I hadn't heard about a virtual marathon before this, so I was very curious. I'm both excited and worried about the marathon (I don't know if that's even possible!) Excited because this is my first time doing something like this, and worried because I don't know for sure if I'll be able to win it. But I'll try my best.
As Namjoon of BTS once said, "Doing my best in the things that are in front of me is the best way I can answer the question of my existence."
Please sponsor me if you can, I would love to raise as much as I can when I attempt to run (and walk and jog) 26.2 miles on 23rd April for Ella's! Every single act of support helps make this work possible. Thank you for unlocking freedom!
