Story
After a competitive selection process and school-wide twitter poll we have chosen to fundraise for the charity "Young Minds" throughout the 2020-2021 school session.
We personally wanted to support a charity focussing on mental health since we aware of how stressful and challenging the year under lockdown has been for everyone.
Another reason we have chosen a mental health charity this year is due to the devastating loss of one of our fellow pupils, Yvonne Black. Yvonne was a bright and bubbly pupil who gave her all at school. We want to encourage everyone to speak up about their mental health problems no matter how big or small and this year the wake up call has been louder than ever. As a captaincy team this year we wanted to make sure that we were able to celebrate Yvonne's life and open up the conversation to mental health within our school.
"Young Minds are a children and young people's mental health charity who aim for a future where all young people are supported and empowered, whatever the challenges."
With your support, we are aiming to fundraise £5000 for the charity throughout the year.
Any donation you make goes directly to help saving and improving lives - we believe everybody should have someone to talk to.
(If you are an eligible UK taxpayer make sure to use "Gift Aid" when making the donation to add 25% at no extra cost)
