After learning the tragic news of Ian Rigby, a great friend and honorary life member of Binfield Cricket Club, we would like to collect your donations to raise as much money as we possibly can for this incredibly important cause.
Depression and mental health illnesses are a truly heartbreaking and horrific thing for anybody to have to experience in their lives. At Binfield Cricket Club, we would like to express our strong support to the MIND charity, along with others similar, and would like to do all we can to raise awareness of mental health issues across the UK, along with any financial support we can offer to MIND.
Our club is a beautiful place where people from all walks of life come together to share their passion for the game of cricket. But while we may be sportsmen (of sorts) on the field, it's off the field where we can really make a difference to people's lives. We have a close-knit, family unity at our club that most will tell you they've never experienced anywhere else. Whatever your age, background, ability level or seniority, we are all one and you will always be welcome into our family. We would like to reach out to anybody suffering from mental health issues, and say that you should never have to feel alone. At Binfield Cricket Club we would like to stress that we are always here for you, as a friend, a team-mate, somebody to have a drink with or even just as somebody to talk to about whatever you like. You don't even have to play cricket, but please feel rest assured that we are here to do all we can, and you can always turn to any of us for help. We will never judge you, we will never think you are weak, we will always support you with open arms. Please never suffer in silence, and please never feel like you are alone.
Please donate all you can to this cause, and we would like to express our sincere condolences to Ian's family.
RIP Rigs', you truly were a legend, and we will never forget you.
