Story
Glasgow Womens Aid has been supporting women, children and young people who are experiencing Domestic Abuse for more than 45 years. The development of our service has been influenced by the experiences of the women, children and young people that we have supported. As an organisation we provide information, support and safe temporary refuge accommodation. We offer support, advocacy and education services to the public, professionals and survivors.
The Global 16 Days of Activism Campaign was launched by the Center for Women's Global Leadershop (GWGL) in 1991. Feminists around the world mark the 16 days, run annually from November 25 (International Day Against Violence Against Women) to December 10 (International Human Rights Day) to call for the elimination of gender-based violence.
Glasgow Womens Aid are open Monday to Friday 9.30am - 4.30pm. Women can receive support by dropping in to visit us at 30 Bell Street, Glasgow, G1 1LG, by calling our crisis line on 0141 553 2022 or emailing getsupport@glasgowwomensaid.org.uk. Workers will listen to and support women to make the decisions that are right for her and her children (if she has any). The development of our service provision over the last 40 plus years has been guided by the women, children and young people that we have supported. They have always been our inspiration.
