Fundraising for Cancer Research UK
I believe that Cancer Research is a vital part of society in both saving and improving the lives of millions across the UK. I personally have experienced the effects of cancer on a family member, my granny. She suffered from acute leukaemia and was one of the lucky few who survived in those days due to the lack of research in that field. The chemotherapy she went through left her a much frailer person than before and made her very susceptible to many diseases due to her weakened immune system. However, she did not let herself be beaten down by this and has continued to live a healthy life for many years. If the research had been done all those years ago it could have prevented, if not cured her ailment. This is why I am supporting Cancer Research UK, so that people like my granny can live strong and happy lives.
