Story

Those of you who know me will know that CrossFit has become a big part of my life in the past few years and so it seemed like a good idea to do something CrossFit related to try to raise some money for a charity which is also very important to me. (Credit to Shortz for the original idea)

Starting at 7am on Saturday 28th May, the challenge is to complete a "Benchmark" workout every hour for 12 hours ending at 6pm with "Murph". I will be doing this at, and with the help of Flowstate home of CrossFit Tewkesbury.

For those that don't speak CrossFit "Benchmark WOD's" are designed to be challenging 🥵  and done from time to time to measure your progress (or lack off). The WOD part stands for work out of the day. I.e. You only do 1 a day not 1 an hour!!!

For those who do speak CrossFit. I am not even close to being an RX athlete! I have not finalised the list of WOD's yet but I anticipate I will be scaling something (or everything) in every WOD but the durations and rep ranges will be as prescribed or at least that is the plan.

Hoping to have folks jump in on a WOD of their choice during the day to keep me company 🤞.

Now I have 9 weeks to prepare / brace myself for the pain ahead! But to missquote Shortz again "I'll probably be ok"

£70,000 is the total target for the project, a lot of money so I have set my personal target at 1% of that. £700. If you are able to donate a little bit towards that goal I would be very greatful.

Thanks very much

Billy

Read below the story of the project any money I raise will go towards.

Our Vision - We would love to be able to afford a new hospital but we have to be realistic. We are looking to raise £70,000 to build a purpose built, outdoor kitchen unit. This will enable us to convert the current kitchen and food store into more hospital space, including a post op recovery room. We will post regular updates regarding the money we've raised and the progress of our campaign.About Vale Wildlife Hospital -Vale Wildlife Hospital & Rehabilitation Centre was founded back in 1984 by Caroline Gould. We take in over 7,500 wildlife casualites every year and our current running costs are over £50,000 each month. We are one of the UK's largest wildlife hopsitals and rely soley on the generosity of the public to enable us to continue to help Britain's wildlife. Read more about the good work we do here: www.valewildlife.org.ukAny donations and fundraisers towards our campaign would be hugely appreciated, we really can't do this without you.
