Story
In 2015, Neil Hodgetts, a loving farther, friend and colleague, was diagnosed with
a malignant brain tumour which sadly he lost his battle with the following
year. The nurses and support staff at MacMillan were amazing in helping Neil
and his family, deal with this awful period of time. So, it was only right to
give something back to them.
Neil has always been a keen golfer, and loved playing a competing his family and
friends. Always a wind up on and off the course, Neil’s playful persona meant a
round of golf was always going to be an unforgettable experience.
By combining Neil’s love of golf, and an ambition to raise money for MacMillan,
Neil’s work colleagues and family were able to put together the Moose-Face
Maggots Golf Society in honour of the great man. This golf day started off
small, and has grown every year since. Plus raising over £2500 in the 4 years
so far.
This is the 5th year of the Moose-Face Maggots society, plus remembering
Neil 5 years. This year plans to be bigger and better then ever before, with
more players and prizes, and a bigger find raising target. This year, we want
to raise £1000 for MacMillan because their contribution and support to cancer
patients and families is priceless. But they need our help and everyone’s help
to keep doing what they’re doing. So please support us and them and donate
whatever you can to this incredible charity.
We cannot wait to get onto the golf course this year and play in Neil’s honour.
It’s going to be an incredible day!
