Story
So most of our family and friends know that billy has severe flat head syndrome, Billy has been having regular hospital appointments since he was 12 weeks old. Today we went to a clinic in Sevenoaks and have been told that both Billy and Sidney need helmets to correct their future head growth. Billy and Sidney's Plagiocephaly measurements have been classed as severe, and untreated this may lead to them being unable to wear a bike helmet, or glasses when grown up, due to the asymmetrical way it makes the ears not be level, and their head shape being a parallelogram, also with a large bone lump on the back of their head. Not to mention of course the cruel way some other kids can be... if untreated their head shape will be like this for the rest of their lifes and we feel we owe it to the boys to try and correct it while there is still time.
They are our perfect precious adorable little boys.
This helmet is not something that the NHS provide, we was just trying to get together 1,745 for one and now we need to double this for both boys to receive this treatment. The cost of the treatment including consultations, helmet manufacture, fitting and follow up appointments. It really seems unfair this treatment isn't available on the NHS. People often use the analogy if your teeth are crooked & not straight you can wear a brace to correct your teeth, but yet there is nothing they will do if your baby's head isn't formed properly and a skull is far far more important than teeth. We have been trying to find the funds ourselves, but it has been hard, and so were advised to try and fundraise for our little boys.
We really appreciate all your help and donations.
