Story
Having very close ties with Huddersfield through my father, I thought it would be nice to try to raise some funds for a place dear to my heart. How better to do that than through the Huddersfield Town Foundation, the team I support and which do fabulous work within Huddersfield and the surrounding areas, through their support of children and young people in the community.
So, having done the 100k Thames Path Challenge non-stop twice, in 2016 and the last of which was last year in 27 hours, I have got a place on the Chiltern 50k Challenge walking through the Chiltern's and hopefully not taking so long (please weather be kind!!).
We all know that the lockdown has hit charities hard and those organisations that strive to improve the lives of those who are the most disadvantaged in our society. By raising funds for the Huddersfield Town foundation it can help ensure that their services like breakfast clubs for young children, their "Steps to Success" programme in local secondary schools in the local area, can continue.
This is one small part - as well as the other fantastic sponsorship events by the Southern Terriers over the course of the last several months - of saying thank you for the work they have done and continue to do in the local community and supporting them through this difficult period.
The Southern Terriers Group are proud to support the magnificent work undertaken by Huddersfield Town Foundation. Our aim is to raise £10,000 this year and encourage all Southern Terrier members, friends and family to assist us in realising this goal.
