In the rather dramatic words of Freddie Mercury, "I like to ride my bicycle." Usually around the high octane streets of London as I fight with millionaires in their extravagant metal boxes but now, I've decided to try something different. A 98K route around the Brecon Beacons seams like a good place to start.
Anyone that's known me for over 3 years will be well aware I used to be a smoking, drinking, car driving, lump of laziness. However, in an ongoing effort to not prematurely die and hopefully outlive all of the Rolling Stones, I've quite the smokes (3 years clean in May) reduced my drinking and taken up the sport of every petrolsexuals nightmares, cycling.
Therefore, in an attempt to do good, be good and help others, I'll be cycling the Macmillan 100 this June. It's a 98K road ride to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and I'd appreciate all and any help you can give. Yes, it is the shortest of the Dragon Ride routes but it's my first year and best not to bite off more than I can chew. I'll be back next year for a bigger and badder route.
Disclaimer: I will not be cycling on the yellow bike pictured in the photos. A vintage Pashley isn't exactly the right tool for the job.
