Please Note: Before I outline the reasons for this JustGiving page and ultimately my request to you to donate; I want to state that I have personally funded all the required funds for my Ride. Together we (BarbersRide) have committed to raising additional funds, this amount will ensure that 2022 enters the BarbersRide record books!

Please be assured you are not paying for me to go on a jolly ride. I have already fully funded my participation and 100% of all donations made will be going to Make-A-Wish® UK.

Why I am Doing This and why donate? During 2021/2022 I have set myself some challenges. Some are professional and some personal. This BarbersRide 2022 challenge is a combination of both. Let me explain...

I currently work for the NHS with Sirona care & health as a Business Manager for Children’s Services. I (like most) have been working from home throughout this pandemic; this has come with its challenges which has put pressure on my (and alot of peoples) wellbeing. Its been a huge shift in my mindset and really made me focus on my drive/ambitions/goals in life. Basically I needed an outlet and recent events have helped me focus what is important to me.

Over 20 years ago I used to ride an 'Aprilia RS 125' with the ambition of one day passing my full bike test. After getting off the bike and moving to the comfort of a 4 wheeled mode of transport; I lost sight of that ambition. The Pandemic reignited that ambition. So.... in December 2021 I finally committed and completed my goal of passing my full bike license! I then decided I needed a challenge and to do something for others at the same time. Some might jest with my new acquisition of a motorbike , tattoo’s and beard is me riding fast into my MLC (Mid-Life Crisis). I think they might be right....

I decided to lean into this MLC and combine all of the above factors and take part in a meaningful and worthwhile cause by joining BarbersRide 2022. Together, we have the power to light up the darkness for Make-A-Wish® UK by riding from Weston-Super-Mare and stopping at RedruthExmouth, Southampton, Brighton and ending at Broadstairs... that’s approximately 1000 miles....for someone who’s never rode a Chopper/Bobber before; let alone 6 days of 8 hours plus riding (gulp!)..... this will be a challenge!

I ask for your support and donation.

I hope you choose to donate to the BarbersRide and Make-A-Wish UK. I really appreciate your support and thank you in advance.

About Make-A-Wish UK: Make-A-Wish UK grant magical wishes to enrich the lives of children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. Granting their wish provides seriously ill children with hope for the future, strength to cope and resilience to fight their condition. They’re given quality time away from the daily realities of living with their condition and given the chance to make magical memories they can treasure forever – whatever their future may hold. We want to transform the lives of 1,000 children this year by granting their One True Wish!
