Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 2nd of August 2010, a group of students from the University of
Sheffield will be cycling from Sheffield to Barcelona over a 3 week
period, in order to raise our target of £5,000 for the Sheffield
Children's Hospital. Please give anything that you can to our worthy
cause and feel free to ask for any information regarding the trip.
We
shall begin the ride at the Sheffield Children's Hospital on the 2nd of
August, cycling through England towards our first checkpoint, Poole.
Our ferry crossing will then take us to Cherbourg, from which we shall
begin the ride through France. Our target is to cycle 70 miles per day,
stopping at various checkpoints to raise awareness of our chosen
charity, and to take a breather! Our ride through France will take us
through Rennes, Bordeaux and Cognac, eventually leading us to
Perpignan, where we shall cross the Pyrenees into Spain. The final leg
of our ride will lead us to our final destination, Barcelona!
I
am sure you will agree that the Sheffield Children's Hospital deserves
all the help that it can get, so please give anything you can to help
our cause! All money raised will go to the charity as we intend to
raise the equipment costs ourselves through various fundraisers
throughout the year. Please attend a fundraiser to donate or
alternatively sponsor us online.
I'm sure that you will be wondering who it is that you are sponsoring,
so here is a small profile of the Bike for Life team:

language at Sheffield University. Major motivation for the Bike for
Life is to give something back to Sheffield and the brilliant cause that

accountancy student and occasional disco astronaut. He is proud to be
giving something back to the great city that has given him so much. He

He talks about his love of his friends and riDONKulous productivity involving raising money for the children of south yorkshire, but in reality only acts out his hatred for the pacific via a blow up rubber ring. Fin.
Phil McKenna - Phil is a student at the University of Sheffield studying French and Philosophy. He is currently working in Belgium on his year abroad and felt he was missing out on an adventure so he's going to tag along. He might also come in handy as the majority of the journey will be spent in France.

"all round liability". Favourite pastimes include football and shouting
loudly. James' motivation for the bike ride is epitomised by the opening
30 seconds of 'Bicycle Race' - Queen.
Simon Rudolph - 'Rudy'
attends York University and has been described by friends as someone
"you dont mind being there". He particularly enjoys snuggly socks and

Kids' - Kylie Minogue and Robbie Willaims
