Story
Sleep Out is an annual, national event, fundraising for homeless and disadvantaged young people in the UK.
On Friday 11th November we will be giving up our nice warm beds for one night to sleep rough under the stars (or whatever the weather), to enable us to raise funds and awareness for homeless and disadvantaged young people in the UK.
We dont expect you to join us, but please give whatever you can to support us. We will have the luxury of being in the safety of the church grounds, with access to food and drink, which is a lot more than the 83,000 young people, under the age of 25, who have no safe space to sleep tonight.
As part of the End Youth Homelessness movement, The Society of St James is partnering with organisations across the country who are supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in our society.
Every penny raised in sponsorship will be used to support local people facing homelessness and will enable the charity to provide such interventions as life-skills classes on healthy eating, budgeting, health and safety, fire safety and healthy relationships- to give them the skills they need to leave the devastating cycle of homelessness, for good. As well as helping young people into employment and education.
