Story
Hello and thank for visiting my JustGiving page, which has been created for you to donate to the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in return for me running (walking) the Edinburgh Half Marathon!!!
The reason I am running on behalf of the BHF is a sad one. One of my close friends, Colin Campbell, tragically passed away in February 2012, leaving behind his wife Nicola and their two children Evie, 2 and Isla, who was 8 weeks old.
Colin died of undiagnosed heart failure known as sudden adult death syndrome (SADS) after a game of tennis one Saturday morning.
Many of his friends are running the half maration on what would've been his 40th birthday. We are raising money so the BHF can keep hearts beating and enable them continue work on groundbreaking research.
They UK's number one heart charity and through 50 years of funding cutting edge research we have already made a big difference to people's lives.
Nicola's story has been documented in the Daily Mail here -
She also writes a blog to share her experiences, which can be found here - http://widowsdontwearblack.com/
This is about her 'journey' through the months after Colin died........
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now to enable the BHF to carry with the great work they do.
Many thanks
Dave
