Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Just before my 36th birthday I found a painful lump in my breast and a short time after, in December 2015, I was diagnosed with aggressive Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). I had a really challenging time through my treatment, spending most of it extremely unwell in  hospital, but losing my hair was one of the toughest things for me, as it is a huge part of my identity.

So to mark 5 years since finishing chemotherapy in May 2016, me and my 4 year old Godson, Hughie Roberts, will be cutting off our long locks on 25 May 2021 to donate to the Little Princess Trust, who provide free real hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions. We also hope to raise some well needed funds for my local hospice, The Hospice of St Francis, for going ahead with the BIG CHOP. They provided me with such a lot of assistance throughout my treatment and recovery, so I would be ever so grateful if you could sponsor Hughie and I.

Breast cancer affects so many people, both male and female and young and old, so please take the time to check yourselves regularly, as early diagnosis saves lives. Here is a quick video that shows you how: https://vimeo.com/298985447
