Story
In July last year our world's were turned upside down when we were given the devastating news that no parent expects to hear. Our wonderful, amazing daughter Marnie was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in her hip. Nothing can prepare you for this and we are still haunted today by hearing those words. It's been a long, emotional and tiring experience but after many rounds of Chemotherapy, our brave little princess is on the road to recovery and this is in large part thanks to the wonderful people at GOSH. Marnie has been treated by some of the most amazing doctors and nurses and we are forever grateful. What people perhaps don't see is all the other work that goes into helping some seriously ill children. From the Play team to all of the back room staff, they all do their best to keep the children as entertained as possible. Anyone who has looked after children will know how challenging this can be, especially in the surroundings of a hospital. One thing that constantly strikes me every time we go to the hospital is what a happy place it is. With so many poorly children and so much heartache it still amazes me at how happy everyone seems there and that again is down to the wonderful people there. I've always been a firm believer that a team, business, organisation etc. is only as good as it's people and GOSH has some of the best people I have ever met. While I know we could never repay what GOSH has done for us, I'm hoping this token will show our appreciation. If you can help me in any way to achieve this I would be most grateful.
Every day, 619 children and young people from across the UK arrive at GOSH.
