Story

Basically, i'm shaving my head and donating the money to Cancer Research UK and donating the hair to Little Princess Trust (who give free wigs to children who lose their hair to chemotherapy). If you want to know more, read on.

Thanks for coming to this page - which probably means you're either curious about what's happening/why or you're considering donating money. Sorry that it's a bit long, but please read the whole of this 'story' if you're in that kinda wanna but I'm not that sure... place with regards to sponsoring this. (I also have a donation sheet if you would prefer to give me any money in person)

WHY ARE YOU SHAVING YOUR HAIR OFF?

Most teenage girls are obsessed with how they look; is their make-up okay? is their hair long enough? bright enough? curly/straight enough? To me, this is all completely silly. There are children who, at the same time, have completely different problems; I wonder if my hospital appointment will take me out of school? which hat should I wear today? am I pretty without hair?

I'm blessed enough to not have any serious health problems and I'm lucky to have thick and long hair. For me to complain about being this privelaged (as others do, quote "i hate my hair omg") would be ridiculous. Purely because I have the choice of what to do with my hair, I want to donate it to the Little Princess Trust who provide free wigs to children who lose their hair to chemotherapy. If you don't care about this, imagine yourself in their position. Personally, I pity the children who CAN'T style their hair. I have the choice of styling my hair, and my choice is bald to give others the choice they should have.

By shaving all of my hair off, I'm helping the Princess trust charity with the hair for wigs, but I'm also being slightly more extreme than just cutting my hair, which is likely to persuade people to sponsor me (hint hint) and I'm making a point that hair isn't all that important. It's dead.

WHY SHOULD YOU DONATE MONEY?

Don't donate for me - the idiot shaving her head - do it for charity. Yes, there are possibly other charities who need/deserve the money more in your opinion, but this one is personally important. Cancer Research may receive a lot of money, but it's not enough until cancer is beaten. And that will happen someday. (Re-establishing what has been previously said, it's not just the money going to a good cause; once the hair's off, it'll go towards wigs for children. For more information on this, visit http://tinyurl.com/lilpri17). By donating any sponsorship money to Cancer Research UK and the hair to the Little Princess Trust, it is my compromise between helping two very important charities.

This is a trustworthy site, so don't let that put you off donating money - or you can give it to me in person, I'm not particularly not fussed, but this website sends the money straight to the charity so it's quicker and more convenient, efficient etc.
