Story
Over a year ago a young, intelligent, bubbly and beautiful girl was taken from this world.
To all of us Darcy was a special friend, who we all had our own unique bond with that will stay with us forever. Darcy is someone who as we’d grown through school, we also experienced life and battled challenges alongside each other. We have all made different life long memories that we will cherish and hold on to, as we will never have the chance to create new ones with our beloved friend again.
This is why in February 2023 Abby, Ella, Evie, Fran, Megan and I have decided to run the Brighton Half Marathon in honour of our beautiful friend Darcy.
Going through this pain ourselves, whilst also seeing the effects it has had on Darcy’s close friends and family, is the reason our eyes have been opened to the severity of mental health within young people. This is why we feel it’s important for us to raise money for such an important cause, which is PAPYRUS (prevention of young suicide) to help people in Darcy’s position feel like they are not alone in the world.
If you could donate any money at all, even £1 to our fundraiser, to help prevent this from happening to another beautiful soul, and the pain and suffering that follows after with the ones that love them most, we would be so appreciative to anyone that can.
Thank you so much.

PAPYRUS is the national Charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK, in 2018 over 1800 young people took their own lives. PAPYRUS provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, and anyone worried about a young person through their helpline, HOPELINEUK. Every £5 raised can help pay for a life-saving contact to HOPELINEUK. Your donations really are lifesaving, thank you.
