Story
This year's chosen charity is The British Heart Foundation because early on Easter Monday, 06th April 2015 Gary Hancock suffered an unexpected heart attack. Thankfully both Vanessa and Bradley were at home and Bradley was able to assist in giving CPR whilst they waited for the paramedics to arrive.
Gary was transferred from Fairfield Hospital to the Manchester Heart Centre at Manchester Royal Infirmary were he underwent emergency heart surgery to fit 3 stents and a balloon pump to assist his heart.
After having a further operation to have an ICD fitted and spending 10 days in CICU Gary has made a remarkable recovery that has surprised and impressed nurses with many years of experience in CICU.
There aren't enough words to describe the remarkable work of Bradley, the paramedics, ambulance team, doctors, nurses and surgeons at both Fairfield Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary have done in saving Gary's life.
Gary has been having lots of rest and recuperation and is making fantastic progress.
Gary, Vanessa, Sophie and Bradley are pleased that the British Heart Foundation has been chosen as this year's charity and they hope as many of you will take part and raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause.
