Story

On Mon 19th Sept 2016 our world came crashing down. My daughter-in-law to be, passed away due to undiagnosed Cancer. This all happened very suddenly and without any warning, beginning with chest pains in the morning. She died later on that very same evening. This also being 3 days before her 23rd birthday. My son Jay not only lost his best friend but also felt his whole world had fallen apart, a life they had planned together had suddenly been taken away.

Cancer seems to have touched everyone in one way or another! I want to do something practical to help raise funds and to help Jay and I grieve. I have set a big target and will do all I can to help the charity continue making vital progress into prevention, early diagnosis and better treatment and preventative medicines of cancer.

This is a huge challenge as I've never done anything like this before, I'm not sure what I'm most fearful about, not being able to raise enough funds or not being fit enough to complete the 5 day classic Inca trail which encompasses 3 high mountain passes – the highest being 4,200m. This trek will be tough and will certainly test me!

I hope you'll join me as I challenge myself to complete the Inca trail trek and reach my fundraising target because I believe research into cancer will help us all one day!

Thank you in advance for your support x
