Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Our father was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2011 following a two year period of symptoms. Unfortunately there is no hard and fast test for this Parkinson's which makes it so hard to quickly find and get under control.

Parkinson's is an extremely destabilising condition. Most people associate it with mobility issues or tremors. And while that it true, the cognitive symptoms and other physical symptoms make this a cruel condition.

Despite this, dad still tried to go about day to day life as best as possible. Taking care of his granddaughter, gardening and playing cards with his family are just some of the things he was able to do until the last year of his life when his condition worsened.

Parkinson's has no cure. The symptoms can only be controlled with medicine. Patients have to take several tablets a day, each with their own side effects. Let's find a cure.
