Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our page.
On Sunday 29th May we (Brian, Gareth, Mark and Kevin) will be taking part in RideLondon - Essex, cycling 100 miles. We all have a place in the event so don't need to raise money for charity, however we thought we’d use this opportunity to raise much needed funds for a worthy cause. Therefore, we have decided to raise money for the Motor Neuron Disease Association (MND).
MND's vision is to have a world free from motor neuron disease. Their mission is to improve care and support for people with MND, their families and carers. The money will also go towards funding research that leads to new understanding and treatments to bring us closer to a cure for MND.
MND has a particular importance as Brian's brother Paul died from motor neuron disease. A progressive disease that attacks the motor neurons, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. It can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breath. Words can't describe how horrible it was to see Paul with this terminal illness. We would therefore like to do what we can to help raise funds for this amazing charity and in memory of Paul a fantastic brother.
It's taken a lot of training to prepare ourselves for this demanding event in order to complete the 100 mile ride. We will no doubt suffer from a fair degree of discomfort, cramp, and fatigue on the day. Please keep us motivated by sponsoring this worthy cause in memory of Paul.
We really appreciate your support and thank you for any donation however big or small. Every little helps!
Many thanks
Brian, Gareth, Mark and Kevin
