Story
I used to run a lot as a teenager with my Granny, but as time has gone on, I have changed the way I exercise due to ongoing issues surrounding chronic pain. This year, I decided to try running again as it was always something that I enjoyed and I wanted to build up my cardiovascular endurance once more.
Then I spotted that the Cardiff 10K's dedicated charity this year is Kidney Wales. My younger brother was born with kidney disease and after 28 years of deteriorating health due to his failing kidneys, he recently received a transplant from my mum to save his life and avoid dialysis. He looks like a whole new person AND he has so much more energy, so it was 100% worth it. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to be the donor, so I thought raising money for this charity to help support the countless others waiting for transplants or in need of medical help was the least I could do.
And who knows, if I can make it through this 10K, maybe I will go onto a half marathon.
Any donation you can make, big or small, would be amazing.
Thanks, and bring on the 3rd September!
Bex :)
