Story
2020 was a tough year for everyone and, like me, you may have self indulged just to get through. Food, alcohol, online shopping... you name it, I've probably pushed it to the limits over the last 12 months. With that being said, I want to test my willpower and make myself feel healthier again both physically and mentally and that's where this challenge comes in.
Bex's 2021 - A year of 'giving up' challenges means I am going to 'give up' one thing a month for 12 months. That one thing could be anything from chocolate to takeaways to social media but I will be starting with alcohol by doing Dry January.
Whilst doing this challenge, I will be raising money for the MS Society, a charity very close to my heart. As some of you may know, I lost my dear Nan last December and she herself suffered from MS from a young age and it went on to affect her more in her later years. Despite her pain and frustrations, she always kept going and tried to never let her disability get her down although it was sometimes difficult for her to come to terms with the loss of her mobility and her ability to do daily tasks. She was however incredibly brave, always had a smile on her face, would wizz down the road on her mobility chair faster than the speed of light and made sure to never show how much she suffered. I am proud to be her granddaughter and I will remember her spirit as I crave a glass of wine or a bar of chocolate.. Both of which I am sure she is enjoying somewhere! MS sufferers don't have a choice when it comes to giving up areas of their life which they enjoy but I am hoping that by choosing to give up certain things in my life for the next year I can raise money to help the MS Society help people affected now and in the future by MS.
Check back to this page every now and again to see how I am getting on, please donate if you can and either way... wish me luck! 🙂🧡
