Please help Save Your Theatre!
I have been involved with the fabulous Stamford Shakespeare Company (at Tolethorpe Hall) for 5 years and have enjoyed being involved in the unique theatre in a number of ways.
Tolethorpe (where SSC performs) is one of Europe's finest theatre venues, Tolethorpe Hall is home to Rutland Open Air Theatre where the resident Stamford Shakespeare Company present an annual season of plays across June, July and August. The company's drama group 'Tolethorpe Youth Drama' teaches and inspires children aged 5-16.
Myself, and a few others, have decided to push ourselves wwaaay out of our comfort zone and are going to run a Half Marathon to raise money for SSC to enable it to survive the pandemic.
The furthest I have ever run prior to this is 10km......once. This is going to be a real test!!! :D
We are running a special route that will start and end at the Theatre at the end of November - training has begun. You can follow my video diary on my progress here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4Wisk3psvMOAjNSiiDG64TXIeTZI7myb and we are all posting on our socials.

The future of SSC is at great risk, due to Covid-19 we have lost a forecasted £240,000 worth of ticket sales, as a charity who receive no funding from any arts organisations or formal sponsorship and are therefore in a crucial time where we need to raise funds! Without your support we will cease to exist, a terrifying thought but at the moment this is our reality. Tolethorpe is a truly magical place, somewhere so many people rely on for their annual dose of live theatre, a creative environment to be truly themselves or a chance to meet new people volunteering. We are all so lucky to have this theatre on our doorstep, losing this wonderful, unique and special place would leave a void in our community. We believe in you and are determined to not let Covid-19 put an end to your theatre.
