Story
I have worked for Abigail's Footsteps for nearly 5 years, it really has been the most rewarding job I have ever done.
I feel extremely proud to work for this wonderful charity, we may be small but my goodness we have a big heart.
My role is to help and support fundraisers who have either gone through the awful heartache of a stillbirth or neo natal death or know someone that sadly has. Seeing what remarkable lengths our parents, their family and friends will go to help raise awareness of the charity and vital funds is so very humbling, I feel honoured to be there for them from the start of their journey to the finish 💜
I am taking on this challenge of running the London Marathon on Sunday 21st April 2024 to help start the fundraising for an exciting new project for the charity, our first bereavement garden at Medway Maritime Hospital. The bereavement garden will provide a beautiful, tranquil place for our parents to visit and take comfort from.
I am hoping to kick start the funding for this amazing project by raising £5,000 and I hope that my family, friends, local businesses and extended Abigail's family will help support me on my marathon journey and our charity's next venture.
Abigail's help in so many wonderful ways, from creating sympathetic space for parents in hospitals, to providing much needed equipment for parents to spend longer with their babies whilst also offering specialist baby loss counselling sessions and bereavement training for healthcare professionals.
Whether you give a little or a lot it makes a huge difference, thank you for taking the time to read my story.
Warm wishes,
Bex xx
