Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!!
Oliver and Charlie (12 &, 10) are going to be running a whopping 100km each during the month of March. As their mum, I will of course tag along, but they are the stars of this one!
The boys Auntie Suz was diagnosed last year with Chiari malformation where the lower part of the brain pushes down onto the spinal canal. She has been hugely brave about her diagnosis and subsequent brain surgery and often jokes about her brain falling out! However, dealing with both the symptoms and the surgery have been a huge challenge for her and those close to her. Many people are shocked to find out that Suz has something which has required brain surgery, I think she still finds it quite surprising herself at times! She has had a slow but really positive recovery and whilst Chiari is forever, she is doing very well to get on with life - Awesome lady that she is 😍
There are however, so many people who are struggling to cope or who people just don't realise have these 'hidden' conditions, so anything we can do to raise awareness and support will be fantastic.
The brain Charity aims to raise awareness and provide support for people who have conditions like Chiari, as well as a whole range of other neurological conditions. They offer emotional support, practical help and social activities for anyone with a neurological condition as well as their families and carers.
Anything you are able to give towards the boys goal of £200 would be very gratefully received 😊
