I will be trekking Kilimanjaro on the 20th September 2010 and running the New York marathon on November 7th 2010 along with my boyfriend in a bid to raise money for Macmillan Nurses. Last year sadly I lost my mum to cancer and I would now like to raise as much money as possible to support Macmillan as they supported my mum in such an invaluable way.

Rising 19,340 feet above sea level and at 5,896 metres, Kilimanjaro is the highest freestanding mountain in the world. It will take 7 days to climb and 5 days to reach the summit, walking an average of 7 hours a day and 10-15 hours on the day of the summit.

The ING New York City Marathon - one of the world's greatest and most challenging road races. More than two million spectators line the streets of New York, from the start on Staten Island to the finish in Central Park and over 40,000.00 entrants. I will hope to finish the marathon in under 5 hours.
