So here I go with my story…
I have been lucky enough to have been picked to run the London Marathon 2021 for the RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People).
This charity is a charity that is really close to mine and my families’ heart.
As most of you know my cousin Craig have a hereditary condition called Lebers which has led him to become partially sighted. Unfortunately as of yet their condition is something that cannot be cured.
Sight is something I think we all take for granted really without realising it. It’s not until you know someone with sight problems and see the small day to day things we all do without thinking being so hard for them. Things like crossing the road, watching tv even down to reading a bed time story to their children. Since loosing their sight they have both got married and was unable to see their beautiful brides walk down the aisle.
So the reason I have chosen to run for this amazing charity, is because there are around 250 people who start to lose their sight every day in the UK. In addition, one in five people will live with sight loss in their lifetime and almost one in four people are ignoring the first signs of sight loss. They help so many families through the hardest time of their lives and if my donations can help anyone who has suffered the same heartbreak as my family have, then I am willing to do everything I can.
I am very excited to take on this challenge to help as many as people as I can.
This is for you Craig!
