Story
I’ve signed up to 2 charity challenges this May and June for We Love Mcr.
First up is the Great Manchester Run on 21st May. I love sport but have never ‘been a runner’. I’ve ran 10k probably 2 or 3 times on my 38 years on this planet. So it might seem short or easy for some, but for me to get around the course without resembling a hot sweaty mess will be no mean feat.
🏃🏼♀️ 🥵 🥇
In June:
I'm taking part in We Love MCR Charity's latest trekking challenge: the "3 Peaks of The Peaks"! Annually we do a new challenge, first the national 3 peaks, then the Yorkshire 3 peaks and now this adventure.
I'll be with a 100-strong team taking on a 25-mile route, recreating the steps of the brave Kinder Scout Trespassers who put their liberty on the line 90 years ago.
This is to raise funds for We Love MCR's work giving heart, hope and opportunity to Manchester's communities & young people. They do this by:- empowering Manchester's unbeatable communities to improve the lives of people in their neighbourhoods with the Stronger Communities Fund.- by changing the lives of ambitious young Mancunians who can't rely on "the Bank of Mum and Dad" through the unique Manchester's Rising Stars Fund.- being ready when Manchester needs it most, like with the Covid-19 Community Response Fund when they distributed £1million to 300+ groups on the frontline of the crisis, including foodbanks + domestic violence sheltersFind out more about this fantastic charity on their website: www.welovemcrcharity.org
