Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day is November 15th and all three of our offices within Better Placed will be donning various purple outfits to raise more awareness on this particular day.
We're running an internal competition for the silliest fancy dress and best dressed office along with having support from local businesses who have offered to join the quest and turn their landmark purple in recognition of this national day.
There will also be an internal bake-off .... with teams competing against eachother for the best baked and dressed cake!
Lucy Butterfield (our qualified yoga instructor colleague) from our London office is kindly supporting us by teaching two yoga classes with all funds being raised to go to the charity - we're lucky that our local gym #urbanfitness have offered their studio to us free of charge to make this happen!
We will be posting our pictures on social media during the competition day and will welcome your comments and support during this time.
The reason this charity is important to us, is that one of our employees Kate Siegel, lost her mother Monica to Pancreatic Cancer at a very
untimely age in 2015. Unfortunately she isn't the only parent of an employee who was taken by this awful disease, and as we all know, cancer is not selective.
The tragedy with this silent cancer is that the 5 year survival rate is just 4% - a figure that hasn’t changed in over 40 years. We hope that we can help raise awareness of this awful disease, improve the chance of survival by educating people on self diagnosis.
Pancreatic Cancer Action is a national charity dedicated to saving lives by improving early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and the quality of patient survival. with your help we fund vital research, create medical education programmes, produce national awareness campaigns and vital patient information.Together we can make a difference!
